Should i leave the bike with OEM Paint scheme?

Wait to you see the wheels, all the polished stuff, and the rear shock....all of it looks incredible....the wheels are off the hook, and even though i have not seen the shock since it has been put back together, i reckon the paint job i gave it, is gonna look trick....not to mention the improved suspension performance with a complete rebuild of the shock, and new suspension pivot bearing's, etc...

Just now saw this, but I'm REALLY glad you went the route you did. I love the look of the original (Duck 900ss ripoff though it may be). We never got these here, and I really like it. Can't wait to see this thing done!

Well yesterday, i got most of the polished stuff back, just need to pick up the Headers still....although, i have seen the headers, and they look like they are brand new, other than for a few dents on the base of them, from where the bike has previously bottomed out on the road! :eek:

Anyway, last night, Mikey & me, got busy again, and Mikey fitted the head bearing's...i sorta helped! :D, Then we put the forks on the bike, the front brake calipers, brake lines, and some of the handlebar stuff....levers, etc...

We also fitted the Swingarm, now that we have the sub-frame back...

Today, i got the wheels back with their spunky new tyres fitted, so today i fitted the wheels....But i cant take the bike down from it's presently suspended state until i get the rear shock back, which looks like it will be on Monday....then i will have a rolling Chassis!

I also have a few more bits and pieces on the way....

A genuine Yamaha front sprocket...OEM size, 17 teeth.

A Renthal rear sprocket, Gold, 40T....+1 from OEM 39T

A DID 525/110 Xring chain...also gold.

A set of M10 threaded frame pick-up's.

A new front brake lever to replace the bent one on the bike right now.

A K&N Oil filter, and a K&N air filter.

And a set of new Grips& Bar-ends...

Yes, it looks about a million times better than it did before it got some serious loving...like the rest of the bike it looked like it was beyond saving...but TLC is an amazing thing

Well i now have fitted up the wheels, admittedly without a rear sprocket attached, or rear brake caliper hanging off.

But here the bike is alomst a rolling chassis....just need the rear shock.

Almost exactly the same brake lines as on my black bike....goodridge, with clear sheafing, only difference is my black bike has stainless banjo's and banjo bolts...

The quality is impressive from goodridge...those lines are 10 years old and after a little bit of a clean up, and a polish of the fittings they came up like new....10 years if being left in the weather, and no rust!

Goodridge are the best IMHO....as they don't rust like other brands....

Ok, have managed to get the bike sorted as a rolling chassis....a significant milestone, considering where we started!

Got the rear shock back, with new fluid, re-gased, a 5mm spacer put in place to make it a little stiffer than stock, and with a new shock seal, bump rubber, some new paint (which i did in the shed), and a re-powdercoated shock spring. I lso had the Rear shock pivot poilshed, replaced the shock pivot bearing's, polished all the rear shock assembly fitting's, bolts & nuts, and last of all had the "Dog Bones" powdercoated red.....quite an overhaul of the rear suspension....is the duck's guts now though!

So as soon as i got it all home, i fitted it up....was dyingto beable to sit on the bike for the first time....

So with a tub of grease, and the required spanners, in 45 minutes, i had it all fitted....
