Powdercoat or heel plates?

Ok, so I've got a Fazer in black:

and what stick out to my eye are the footpegs - I want them black (cheaply and easily)! I'm not going down the rearsets route eg Rizoma's a) because of the cost and b) they might cause further problems e.g. fouling with the centrestand.

I think I've got two options:
- take the whole footpeg assembly off, get them powdercoated black at a local shop and then fit them back on (or, in my case, attempt to fit them back on lol)
- just buy some aftermarket accessories like these:
Powerbronze UK International - HEEL PLATES - YAMAHA FZ-6 FAZER S2 07-08/FZ-6 S2 07-08
but they don't really go the whole hog, do they?

What do you reckon? Any other options? Any thoughts/experience/pix much welcomed, thanks.

I’d go with the powder coating option, I’m thinking along the same line.

Great, thanks. Looks like the only thing you didn't powdercoat black on the footpeg assembly was the gearshift connecting rod, right? What about on the right hand (footbrake) side? Anything else, practically speaking, to look out for?

You will need to press out the bushings, this can be done with a C-clamp and a couple sockets. On the shifter you will unsrew the shift rod from the rod end as it cant be easily taken off the coaters will mask it off to coat it.

I think you should get them powdercoated, I´ve just had mine coated in black and it looks great. The disassembling and assembling is not really a big deal.

those PB things look like a bolt on to the existing plates, why not do both, PC the plates AND add the carbon bits to it as well,
