A place to post up the some of the motorcycling crap that gets routinely shoveled at us.
Two of my all time favorites:

"Off course these gloves are waterproof " I own a pair myself (salesman sh1t).

"They all sound like that" (Dodgy seller, trying to palm off a dog).

"I'll ride extra careful because it's too hot to wear gear."

"The dealer HAS to add those $2000 worth of fees. They're not there in cars because you don't have to assemble cars." No, but there is about 2 hours of work to get a new car drive-able. Just like a new bike...
 
"If you get on the gas in the turn it will upset the bike and you'll crash. Best to wait until after you're through it." My first MSF instructor. Got drunk and played chicken with a telephone pole...

" ya I use to have da Yamaha GSR1, it was too slow so now I got dat Suzuki ZX1600R, ya no da 1 wit da Chinese picture on da side, ya dat **** ell RIDE OUT!!!"

I wish I was making that up....

I'm US Navy. We have to take the BRC then 6 months later we take an advanced course. For me it was the Military Sportbike Rider Course. I had two different instructors for each class. When I took the MSRC I learned that my previous instructor had wrapped himself around a telephone pole at speed. There were no signs of him trying to stop...

So um.. on topic:

"You can have a few and ride fine. You'll be better for it on a bike cause you weave on a bike anyway! Cop can't tell you've been drinking. Not that I would, you know, condone that."

And...

Body steering.

The helmet one is brilliant.
 
I don't need training, i've ridden bikes for years (usually said by born again biker types after 15 year layoff)
