A little motorcycle show in Austin, TX, yesterday. It's what happens when MotoGP is in town. With a lens that does f/2.8 no flash was needed:

OK Chris - solve this! Find the vantage point and use a clean lens and better camera! Hint: location is 41 miles west of the peak and within 7 mile ride for me to get there! Should you choose to accept this mission, I'll go after your BOTM photo location!

Another hint - notice the two Mt peaks off in the distance! Mt Hood is to the left of this photo! Blah

Here's my failed attempt from today after work. I took this in Boring on the pedal bike, which looks to be too close.

Also ran into a motorcycle cop riding on the bicycle path, which is unusual. They're ditching BMWs and switching to the Kawi Concours.

Ok I think I know where it is. I was headed to the viewpoint on the other side of Mt Hood Highway but my legs fell off.

Note to self, bring 100 horses next time.

Ok Randy, it was Jonsrud Viewpoint. I caged it out there this morning and was lucky to get the shots in before it completely clouded up.

Didn't really need the tripod but I think the polarizer I used helped since it was side lit.

You have a D80 that's on par with my D3100. Use the flaming thing.

Was your location an official viewpoint? I'm using Google Maps terrain view and can't really see anything above 800' where I was in the Boring area.

Made any attempts at my BOTM site?

Got a Flickr account on the weekend and was itching to try it out. Took an old photo from 2011 and tweaked it in Lightroom 4. I gave it some crazy parameters and this is what popped out at me...
