PCH Near Big Sur

So I came across this article about PCH/Highway 1 that runs all the way up the California coast. Apparently the ocean is trying to reclaim California and is starting with my beloved PCH.

Yeah, that sucks. It's right in the middle of the route of the marathon I'm running on May 1st!

Well the article says there are no plans to reschedule the marathon so hopefully you will be ok

That even made the news here in Colorado! Lucky no one was hurt.

Yeah, we'll be fine. The plan right now is to change the route rather than the date, because changing the date would throw everyone off their training schedule, which is a huge deal. Apparently this happened in 1998 too, so they have had to do it before. The organizers are being great about communicating to us and keeping our moods up.

Big storm moving in this weekend, let's hope the highway doesn't sustain more damage. At least right now, we can change the route to out and back and still have the 26.2 mile course.
