Just got back from the Paris motorbike show. Great day with all the big manufacturers putting in some awesome displays, along with some smaller ones too. Lots of interesting stuff, collections of old bikes pretty much right from when they were invented up until the latest models for 2012.

Yamaha's 50 years of racing exhibition was especially good. I got to sit on so many bikes I almost wore a hole in my jeans! The Italian manufacturers make some of the most beautiful bikes. Ducati, Benelli, Aprilia and MV stands were packed and I spent a lot of time drooling (over both the bikes and the hot models standing around and draping themselves over the bikes :D )

Here's a couple of pics; Super Sic's Gresini Honda, new KTM 690 Duke (looked like it'd be a lot of fun), KTM 990 SMT (I hope will be my next bike!), Cyril Despres' KTM Dakar Rallye bike, a honda VFR with a trailer! Couple more pics to folow...

And lastly, Wayne Rainey's 500cc GP bike

And one of my favourites from the whole show (as it's both gorgeous, cool and British!) the Triumph Thruxton.

Pure bike porn.....especially the old race bikes.

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

It sure was! I wish I took more photos as there were so many classic bikes. I just didn't have enough time or space on my memory card!

The oldest machine I saw there dated from 1904. Admittedly it was more of a bicycle with a small engine bolted onto it, but everything starts somewhere!

I'm still dreaming of the KTM... :drool:
