Hello all,

a couple months back I got some side fairings on eBay and I have decided I want to get them painted. I’ve been calling around all the local auto body shops for quotes and every place I’ve called wants $800 plus to paint them.

I found a guy through a friend who’s willing to paint both fairings for $600. I was told that the ppg oem paint is $480 and that the labor will be $120. And if I were to go to a shop they’d charge $1,000. Does this sound right? I can’t believe how expensive this is

In the past I’ve paid $1,000 to have a tank, fenders and side panels prepped and painted. $600-$800 sounds like the right price for an auto body shop to do a left and right side fairing.

With that said, I've learned how to paint. Which is really a misnomer…I’ve learned how to prep. Painting, the actual application, is quite easy. The better the prep, the easier the paint goes on.

What I don’t have is a place I like to paint, so I wait for the right day to prime and paint outdoors.
