ok so math is not my friend but maybe someone here is a mathmatician. lets say I'm on a flat surface with normal wind conditions. I weigh 160ibs and I am on my FZ6. So what speed am I traveling at if I'm in 6th gear at 12,000 rpm?

Roughly 132mph but the speedo will be reading around 140......

Awesome, thank you. How do you calculate that?

12,000rpm in 4th is equal to roughly 120mph observed. Without using a calculator each gear above that while maintaining the same relative speed will be about 450rpm +-. This would give you 900rpm more in the upper two gears or about 5 to 7 mph each at that point. I can't speak for others but mine will only pull about 13,500 in 6th which is a corrected 148mph or 16mph over that at 12,000rpm.

I have not topped mine out in 6th but I beleive that the true top speed is about 145-7MPH. The speedo is very generous over 120MPH lol.

From what I have read that would seem to be vary true as some folks havr claimed and observed speedo reading above the 155 mark. On mine it starts to get happy above 75mph.

I was reading somewhere in the mid 140's at 12,000 RPM in 6th. The bike was still pulling but not very hard at all.
