Oil leak, right side of the engine

Hi,

Yesterday after a trip of 65km I noticed a small oil leak at the right side of the engine. I cleaned it, did another trip of 65km and the leaking oil was back.

What can be the problem here and how can I solve it?
Do I need to be worried?

Welcome to the forum!

Try snugging it down, it may have loosened up slightly. Use a large washer or coin as its plastic and a thin screwdriver will tear it up as its plastic. Hand tight is plently..

If its tight, there's an O-ring under there. Order a new O-ring, and replace it. The O-ring is actually slipped over the threads of that round cover so you won't drop it.

Note, I doubt it, but someone overtightened (didn't look like it) that plug, it could have damaged the pastic plug/threads. Both are cheap to replace..

BTW, if you can post the year bike under your picture, it'll come in handy should you have other issues where you have Yamaha FZ6S2 typed in..

completely off topic but is that a crash pin at the top of the pic, can i bug you for a picture slightly more zoomed out and +1 on the o ring take it of check the seal surface and the threads.

That seems to be the problem! I tightened the screw and that stopped the leak.
Nothing has been damnaged, apparently the warmth has loosened the screw a bit.
