Oil filters that will fit

According to the Wix filter finder, the correct part number for the FZ6 is 51258. Of course the OEM filter works well. It’s one of those things that you’re only going to change once or twice a year…so why not get OEM?

Can I use a Wix #DL10000 oil filter,and is it compatible and able to work well in my FZ6 ?

Did you mean WL rather than DL? That should work, but WIX calls for their 51358. Their 51365 will also work.
I don't have a Yamaha dealer anywhere close, so I don't use the Yamaha filter either. I'm using the HiFlo HF303, they call for the HF204 but the HF303 is a bit longer.
I find it a real tight fit to get at the oil filter on these bikes so I will be buying the proper wrench for it. The K&N oil filters and the 'RC' versions of the HiFlo have a nut on them so you don't need the wrench.

I have been calling a few local brick & mortar auto parts stores here and trying to locate HiFlo oil filters.. the local O'Reilly store carries the Wix 51358.
I imagine a place that sells Toyota auto parts may also sell HiFlo oil filters,as Toyotas use HiFlo oil filters on their new cars,from the factory.
I want to get a few HF303/HF204's.

I get HiFlo from the local ATV/MC repair shop. It looks like there are lots of dealers in Sacramento but that may not work for you.

Sacramento traffic w/ lots of road construction can be stressful.
I imagine I can get a good price online somewhere;I haven't looked because I always hunt for a brick n' mortar shop first.

Pricey but also works as an oil cooler and super easy to check for debris at oil changes..
Mines paid for itself easily 2-3 x over....
