Odd noise at 8000RPMs?

I know that many have had an odd vibration at 7-8000RPMs. What has it been diagnosed as mainly? At 8000RPMs and rolling with the clutch out in any gear (accelerating) I get an odd metallic loose bolt or washer vibration on the left front somewhere. It's a high pitched almost screeeeeeeeeech!!! sound and goes away right past 8000RPMs, I was worried this might be the transmission or clutch but after reading all your posts I feel better about it. What do you guys think?

My clutch lever vibrates a bit so I just put a little pressure on the lever with one finger and it goes away.

If you are slipping the clutch it is coming from the clutch at these revs. Are you talking about under power from a slow speed whilst riding the clutch? or it happening during normal riding?

My bike don't like clutch slipping for extended periods.

I've got A LOT of buzzing from my clutch handle. I'm wanting to get some of the Pazzo's but I'm already over budget on bike stuff right now so I've got to wait Does anyone know of a tip/trick to stop the clutch handle buzzing in interim?

It WAS the clutch lever!! Wow, thanks guys, that's amazing that it happens so often. Now, gotta figure out a cure so it won't do it. Maybe some kind of rubber shim between the lever and bracket or something. Thanks again, I was getting worried.

i just leave the buzzing to remind me audibly that the "power" is coming on.

Yes there is a tip/trick to make it stop.
Thin nylon washers or you can make your own by cutting round circles out of a margerine container lid. At least thats what I did on the ninja250. Mine doesnt do it on the FZ.

Wrightme I decided to try out your suggestion by taking a plastic transparency (the kind used with an overhead projector) and cut out a pattern so that it would fit between the clutch handle and handle housing. And what do you know, the buzzy sound that happened around 7500 - 8000 RPMs has been silenced. :cheer::cheer::cheer: Now my new TBs aren't being ruined by that aweful sound.:thumbup:

This post is worth a bump. Kudos to maverick1970 for his insightful solution.
I too had bad vibration noise in the clutch handle. Today, I shaped a thin piece of plastic and inserted it as described above. The vibration noise is completely gone!

So, with my grip puppies, airhawk seat and clutch mod, the only vibration issue I am dealing with is the mirrors at the resonant frequency.

Any suggestions on how to dampen the stock mirrors?

i think i know what you mean. i really rolled on the throttle yesterday down a small straightaway and i'd say right as it hit 8,000 i heard what almost sounded like a little alarm, which scared me for a sec and i looked down expecting a light to come on or something, but i realized it was most likely some kind of vibration in the handle area somewhere that occurs when the vibrations due to the rev are juuussst right for that split second. think it just bothered me then, now i know what it is i'll deal with it. was a bit startling.
