Glad you are ok mate!

I had a similar close call the other day riding back home from work. I was waiting at a red light to turn left. There were 2 lanes turning left and I was on the outer one. In hindsight I think that was my mistake (should have been on the inside lane). But anyways, this lady pulls up next to me in her SUV in the inner lane to turn left. So she knows I am standing there. We both turn left and suddenly she jumps in to my lane coz she made a wide turn! I honk the **** out of the horn and that in turn scared her so she swerved right in to the oncoming traffic lane on her left side! And then I am feeling sorry for her because it could have been pretty bad there!
These indecisive drivers on the roads are the scariest people I swear!

Thanks everybody.

You know the more I think of this there may be a physical reason that people dont see us too.

You know we have a blind spot at the edges of each eye. The brain fills it in with what it thinks is there. Maybe the brain just doesnt process us? I sure dont know for sure.

Steve,

There's not much more I can add, but I am glad your evasive actions kept you safe. I applaud you for remaining calm and not going after him, I've got a short fuse and I'm not sure what trouble I would have gotten myself into.

Chuck

yea, at least you aren't like my brother who took revenge on a truck by dropping gears and doing a karate-chop on the mirror to smash it off...got chased for 5 miles by the guy, but he apparently deserved it to his redneck arse!

haha was there a crazy banjo theme playing as the chase unfolded?

I guess I should just say this.
I have a CCDW. I dont get to chase people down. I am a small guy, most people are bigger than me. I try to be very well mannered and polite. If I had chashed him down, say he had stopped and we had got in a fight. It could very easily ended up with that guy dead. I dont get to do that. If they corner me, and attempt to harm me or Trin in any way, then they die and I have no problems going to sleep. If I follow them as they attempt to escape I am in the wrong. It would bother me for the rest of my life.

Yeah I will recognise the truck. Yeah thinking about pulling up next to it in my truck and taking a hole saw on my drill to his tires sounds funny. Its wrong though. Dude is stupid, he probley has plenty of enemies and the problem will solve itself.

We have to behave like adults on these things. Bad judgement will make us even easier prey for the cager.

Wow - what a dip$hit. Glad you're OK. I also live in BG, KY - where cell phones are mandatory and stoplights are optional. Not to hijack, but my son was rear-ended on Lover's Lane just north of Kirby FH just after dark in early July. His car was hit by a car that was also struck from behind. The guy must have been doing at least 40 and also sideswiped an oncoming car. The center car was seriously damaged and the lady was taken away on a backboard. My son was lucky and walked away. I'd hate to think what would have happened to a bike under these conditions. Here's a pic....bear in mind that the center car took the brunt of the crash and was in far worse shape.
Best to ya!
