So I had some plans today, but when my friend with the Ninja 250's asked me to go for a ride I blew everything off and took him up on the offer. We road some fun twisty roads that have little vehicle traffic and plenty of room to truly enjoy the curves. I rode the FZ for 1/2 and the Ninja 250 for the other half.
I must admit the 250 still puts a huge grin on my face. It's like riding a mountain bike with a motor after riding the FZ. You sit so low on the 250 that it's like being in the bike and everything from acceleration to lean in is so mild that it simply makes everything easy and fun. I was smoother on the little 250 than I am on the FZ, but they're two completely different bikes.
I wouldn't want to put the miles per day that I ride the FZ on the 250, but for a second bike to just play around with and possibly take to the track I think the 250 is perfect. I can also say with certainty that the 250 is one of the best bikes to learn and practice on because it's so easy and predictable, yet has the perfect blend of power and control to build skills and confidence on.
Heck, I'm really thinking of picking one up for the sheer ease of riding and fun that I had on it.
