Newbie gas Q?

My bike now has about 250 miles, Two Brothers exhaust, k&n filter, and dyno PCIII (using the suggested scorpion/k&n map setup until it's past the 500 mile break in, then my friend @ the dealer is going to dyno it and do a custom map). My f trip comes on after only 125 miles on the trip odo. I fill up right away (it took just under 4 gallons), but I want to know, does the break in period go for the mileage too, or am I burning way too much gas?

I was getting terrible gas mileage with my first few fill ups, but it did improve. I was hitting f trip after about 130 miles... I have heard other people talking about this issue too...

Thanks, I guess my trip to Maryland this weekend should show some improvements. I figured it was normal, but that's what forums are for, reassuring :thumbup: what you want to be true!

mine seems to do pretty good....i don't really look at the mileage on it since we have a gas gauge...we're lucky!!! lol on my honda shadow i have to do the math from last mileage...and on my ninja i gotta re-set my trip and fill up before i hit 150 miles lol

it depends on your riding style, on my FZ6 if I was hammering down I could get a blinking light at 120miles if I was just cruising I could go about 175 miles before the low fuel warning.

but to answer your question the MPG will increase slightly after break in

I get 190-200 miles a tank if i keep my wrist out of it. My last fill up was at 196 miles, indicated, I should check it against my gps.
