I'm actually working towards my B.S. in chemistry, except once I get that I just want to work. No more school, I want to get paid for my time while I learn not pay to spent my time learning! (props to you for going all the way...I'm just fed up with school)

I got my 2007 a couple weeks ago with 4100miles on it so I feel like we've gone through almost all the same experiences (except I'm only 25 and don't have a place of my own or kids etc....)

Hey MG,

I've read that another reason to lower the forks is to improve cornering, at the price of slightly less stability. I can see that. But are there any other reasons?

Lowering the forks will change the steering geometry making the bike turn more quickly. But, too much and you start to give up ground clearance. Going to the extreme and it would compromise high speed straight line stability.
