Hi everyone, my first post here, I purchased a 2007 FZ6 off the showroom floor on friday, got a great deal on it, and will pick it up on tuesday. My first order of business will be to install some kind of luggage system, since the bike will be mostly used for day trips and overnighters, riding two up with the wife.

At the dealer, I test fit a set of soft saddle bags on the bike, this particular set was too long and interfered with the pass. foot pegs, but otherwise I liked the set up and storage. The only thing I didn't like is that I feel that when I load them down, they will sag inward. I'd like to have some support to keep the bags a little stable. I found this ventura system, which consists of a support rack and backpacks that sit upright behind the passenger. What I really like about the system, is that the side bars look like they will do a good job supporting soft saddle bags. My plan is to order the short rack (see pic), and use side saddlebags. The short rack, seen here, will also give me some storage in the back. I figure I can always order the high bar and pack system later if necessary.

Any other ideas, options, or problems you guys think I might run into, i'd appreciate the help.

You could do something like this: http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-mods/32604-soft-pannier-racks-bars-little-6-work.html. There's also the option of adding the Givi FZ351 topcase rack and soft saddlebag supports that work with it. If you're going for a really stock look, that would be a good way to go, although not the cheapest way.

Lots of people on here over the years have posted mods that would probably help you out. When you're searching, use key words like "saddlebag support" or "panniers". There's a wealth of knowledge hiding in these forums and sometimes it can be a bit of work to find, but it's always helped me out when I've had a mod to do.

Oh, and :welcome:
