That makes me nervous. She can't recall the incident, but had no alcohol or drugs in her system! It's like what's going on here in MA with all the elderly drivers hitting people lately. I guess that's a different debate though...

In Ca we have elderly people do stuff like that too I feel that after a certain age yearly competency exams should be issued to elderly drives I knows its a hassle but it could save a lot of lives

Yeah, and I conveniently "forget" every time I speed! :spank:

What a terrible tragedy. R.I.P bikers.

Sounds like the driver had a seizure. I saw a guy in a parking lot have a siezure behind the wheel...he pinned down the accelerator and went crashing into a row of parked cars. The engine died which was the only thing that stopped more wreckage. He was having convulsions...maybe this woman just had an absence seizure. Either way you wouldn't remember it happening.

Good reminder to be on the lookout for the unexpected. Terrible story, completely innocent victims.

It is in NSW. Not sure about the rest of Australia. My grandma has to do an annual review now. Mind you, she's 88. She didn't do so well last year and was only allowed to drive 15Km from home - WFT?! Either you can drive or you can't!

You have to watch in all 37 directions when you're on a bike. Mind you, if they'd been in a cage they may still have perished at that speed. Not good :(
