Neutral light and clutch issue

My neutral light turns on when the clutch is in. Just washed it. I'm sure there's water in it. I just need a visual of what I need to take apart to clean to help it? Also I'm just want to make sure it's still okay to ride for now? It's my only transportation

It's probably okay to ride. There is a starter cutoff relay assembly under the left plastic pod by the seat. This is the logic assembly that your kickstand, clutch lever switch and neutral safety switch go to. Bet the plug is wet. IIRC the plug has 13 wires attached. Pull the plug. Blow it dry.

What Cliff said but, add some Dilectric grease once its dry, it'll keep it from happening again..

Some diagrams are here as well as part numbers in the link in 6th post. However while looking for something I found the Diagram reference does not match the parts pictured in the electrical (1 & 2) sections. i.e. link in Post #6.

Had this same issue today after washing my bike. Noticed the light come on every time I pulled the clutch in. I decided to take it for a short 15 minute ride to see if the problem would work itself out. Error persisted.

Came in and checked the FZ6-forum and boom found this thread. Went outside with my 4mm Allen wrench and in 5 minutes fixed the problem. I've had my FZ6 for just over a year now and this forum has been such a great resource.

Just wanted to say all you guys are awesome. Ride safe!

+1 on the above..

I know I posted on it too, but never applied di-lectric grease as I never had an issue. Saw that relay there many a times, but didn't know what it was.

Anyway, just blew it out, put some di-lectric grease (preventive maintainance) and saved this thread for later posting!
