I thought I read somewhere that certain ones are waterproof while also allowing breathing.

I use a Nelson-Rigg Defender 3000, it does a great job of keeping water out, while still being breathable and what not.

Can i ask what size do you use??? thinking to buy one for a naked Fz6.

I use the large, which is made for touring bikes. It fits my faired FZ6 perfectly(not too tight, not too loose).
If you don't have a fairing you might be able to go a size down. Or you can use the same but there will be some slack up by the fairing area.
