My ignition key keeps sticking!

Okay so Yamaha applied some sort of lube yesterday to my ignition after doing the 2 recalls. At first they told me they were going to use white lithium grease, but when I picked it up they said they used graphite. It's a little better, but it's definitely still sticking. I have to wiggle the key a little back and forth once it's in. I'm going to try the WD-40.

I had the same problem with my key/ignition since new. I tried WD40 which made it worse. After struggling with it for months I decided to try graphite powder and vola it works perfectly now. I too ride and park in the rain with no ill effects.

when the key is in the lock try pushing the key forward slightly just enough to take up the freeplay and try and turn it, i have found with most yammys after a few kms the ignition starts to wear and is hard to turn but this works almost everytime

try WD-40 it cures everything
just a little inside the lock then insert the key and move it around, lock and unlock many times.
redo if needed.
enjoy
