Bars - I went for Rizoma bars but many people go for FZ1 bars, CF heel guards, anodised oil caps, Rizoma grips and a new 15T sprocket ... just a few for ya - check out my signature for a few more :)

:welcome:to the forum! Great group of people here and you'll find lots of great info. :D

Get with Motogiro and do the headlight mod - I rode home in the dark tonight thanks to the time change and the mod was nice. Maybe I'll go for the HID upgrade. Another cheap mod is the FZ1 bars puts your hands down an inch and forward 1.5 inches and are straighter. They cost about $30 if you can re-use the grips. An extra brake light bar (LED from Cycle Gear) above the tag.

:welcome: to the forum...

Cheap & motorcycle mods dont really go in the same sentence , everything that is quality has a price... Having said that there are some awesome bargains to be had on Ebay so i'd start there

The cheapest performance mod you can make is simple , use premium fuel IMO your bike will love you for it :D

New springs and oil in the front isn't too pricey and will probably make a big difference. About $120 in materials. The rear shock can't be helped very much cheaply, though. And they should match.

Oh, and not cheap, but it will make the biggest difference: Tires! Most people seem to like the Michelin Pilot Road 2 or 3.

Sweet! Thanks guys, Im super excited to get all this info overnight! I can't wait for J-Term to roll around, I've got some work to do!! And I do agree that its hard to find cheap mods for this bike....

Hey I just did the Fazr6 FE mod last night,
about 40 bucks for the unit and almost the same to ship to Aus.
took a bout an hour and a bit, great instructions and all the bits you need are in the kit
I'll duck out at lunch time grab a quick pic and post it up
My only addition was some red reflective tape around the original plate light as you lose all OEM reflectors with the mod,
(hopefully that will satisfy mr plod)
but the look is ace imho:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

nice monster in the background too- brand spanking about 3 weeks back

Or even cheaper - Can of spray paint, for the heel guards, does the 04 have radiator guards?, other bits and pieces.

Our 2004 models have heel guards which already match the silver frame color.

My favorite mods are:
- FAZR6 Fender Eliminator kit
- Frame sliders
- Cheap adjustable levers from eBay
- HID projectors for the headlight (unless you don't ride much at night)
- Cheap grip heaters
- R6 forks and brakes (does anyone still make the adapters?)
- 2007+ swingarm swap

There's always the after-market exhaust route, but they are pricey for our bikes. Still, I'm glad I have one on my bike.

Lots of people like changing the front sprocket for better acceleration, but I haven't done that yet.

The rear shock could use an upgrade, but like the exhaust, it's expensive.
