Not on my FZ for this trip, on a Hornet instead (boo hiss I know)
Anyway I'm the one at the front.
Every year we go and do about 3000 miles in a week, then come back home to miserable British roads and weather for the rest of the year.

Amazing road. Personally, I wouldn't spend so much time in oncoming lane (or any time), but to each their own.
Here's a suggestion.. try putting a tiny piece of tape over the camera microphone! Mine used to record with that horrible wind noise too. With tape over mic, it's about 80% better.

The mountain areas of France are full of roads like this. I used to live in the Rhone-Alpes region until moving to Paris a few months ago. Roads up here are all dead straight and the weather up here is crap!

Good tip on taping the mic, will give that a go on mine too - hate that horrible wind noise!

Thanks for the tip about the mic, will get our video man to try it this year. We have tried all sorts of sound editing to get rid of it but can't.

I've been quite a few times and do a different 3000 mile route each time, although I have some favourites I always manage to go back to. The group I take varies, one year it was 20 which was too many, going to stick to a max of 12 from now on. For the trip I produce a route book with all turns, junctions, directions etc and the distance between each one. That way anyone who fancies a ride on their own can do so and still end up at the right place. In the last couple of years I have also done a Garmin route which anybody can load and use if they have the gear.
I've found the East side of France is best, the Massif Central and the Pyrenees are better than anything in the UK but the Alps are the tops.
