What's best for lubricating brake hoses (rubber) externally?

Possibly there has been others who asked the same thing earlier, but perhaps there is some new fantastic product... or just some old well-known household thing that would be perfect?

I replaced all my lines with SS Hel lines.

I would think silicone spray, would be fine on the stock lines (or any rubber-NOT TIRES).

STP did make a protectorant that worked really well however they apparently stopped making it (yellow bottle).

You don't need to lube the brake hoses as such, but if you want them to look nice and shiny wash them (along with the bike) and wipe on some Armor All or similar product. I use Armor All on all plastic and rubber components (except the tires).

I found armor all tended to dry out any rubber it was applied to and washed off easily....

I used it on the side walls (tires) of my old bike, they looked dry rotted in 6 months (were new tires) and the bike did not sit out in the sun...

I won't use it...
