Hello there. I've been keeping an eye out for an FZ6 for a few weeks. One has just popped up at a dealer in Philly and I'm not sure of the price. It's a 2006 that according to the dealer has only 380miles
It looks mint. I'm taking a trip tonight to have a look. Dealer is asking 4995, which I think is too much. Even low mileage, it's still 5yrs old. KBB has them down at about 3600.

This will be my first bike purchase in the US, so your input is much appreciated.

Hmm, just for comparisons sake I got a 2007 w/ 1850mi on it last year for $4500. So I would say they are a bit high.

Yes. They're trolling for a sucker. I wouldn't even be interested in a bike that's been sitting for five years. That means it's probably received little to no preventative maintenance.

Seems too high to me. I bought a 2009 last year with 1100 miles for 4850 out the door(after taxes, licensing etc.)

I'll be honest and say I hadnt really considered any bikes more than 40/50miles away. What do people do when a bike is 4/5hrs away? Do you rent a uHaul and go out in the hope it's what you want? I dont have a buddy to drive a car that far (the boss-lady doesnt like to drive much!)

Borrow a pickup truck and a ramp.

I recently bought my 2008 from a guy in north New York and I live in South New Jersey. It was a good 7 hour trip I made to pick it up. The bike had 206 miles on it and I paid 4,000 for it. All stock. I thought it was worth the ride but I also had an enclosed motorcycle trailer to use and pick it up. I would travel some distance for a bike maybe not as far again but I really wanted that one. Good luck with finding the right one and that one was way overpriced.

Got my 08 with 1450 miles on it for $3500. I did have to drive 6 hrs to get it though. Try searchtempest.com. Great deals to be had on craigslist.

I picked up my 2006 in January of 2007 with 1 mile on it (brand new) for $4,999!!!

That is way too much for a 5 year old bike!

I picked up an 06 in summer of 08 brand new for $4,400 out the door. My brother in law just got a 2009 brand new for about $4,800 out the door. Just throwing it out there so definitely too much.
