so I am now ready to buy my FZ6 I have been looking at craiglist here near the bay area. I have some questions I dont know what should i get a new 2009 or go for a used 2008 or 2007, I like the red 07 and the blue 08 09 but the price jump is like 1k.
what should a used FZ6 cost 2007+ and most of the ones i have found have like close to 10k on them, is that alot ?for those model years.
i saw some 2008 going for like 5500 with like 5k miles is that a good price? some red 07 go for like 4500 with like 10k miles, or should i just go for a new one and ask what will be the lowes price for a new one cash OTD? what do you guys think.
I dont really like the black one i saw a new one today at san jose yamaha and i did not really like it, i do like the blue tho
thanks guys

If you can get a new 08 from a dealer at a good price that will be the best value unless you find a second hand one with all the trick stuff you want.

I bought my 08 in August of 09 for $5200.00. It was a dealer demonstrator with 800 miles on it. I still got the 1 year warranty from my purchase date. I would look for a hold over 08.

I've been doing a lot of reading and my understanding is that '07-'09 are
the same bike with different color schemes. Main changes from previous
for the '07 are: better fuel injection mapping for midrange, improved front
braking, new instrument cluster, new seat. I just bought an '07 because I
really like the blue and did not care for the color choices on the '08-'09's.
And I agree, this bike does not look good in black. IMHO, a low mile blue
'07 is the ticket.

i have been looking at the red o7 but there is really nothing out there, right now and some people want too much atleast i think so, i think im going to try to go to some dealers and see what kind of deal they are willing to do, the problem is that the bike is really hard to sell especially now that its gone for 2010 so i have to think how much am i going to loose when i turn around and sell it later down the road, people here in california want sport bikes and this to them dont seem like a sport bike. once i tell that to the dealler hopefully they would give me a deal especially if im going to pay for it cash ODT dont you think? what do you guys think would be a good price at the dealer for an 09 cash? and what should i tell them to make them give it to me cheaper ?

04-06 are the same bike, minor upgrades in 07, 07-09 are the same bike (Yamaha FZ6 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

As for price, depends on mileage, condition, year, etc. I recently saw a red 07 listed on this forum for $3,500.

According to Kelly Blue Book (http://www.kbb.com/motorcycle), the FZ6 value in SoCal is:
Year New/Trade-in Condition Price
07 New 0 $4,885
07 Trade-in Good Condition $3,360
08 New 0 $5,410
08 Trade-in Good Condition $3,725
09 New 0 $5,810
09 Trade-in Good Condition $4,160

Hope this helps with your decision :D

I bought a dealer demo 08 with 1000kms on the clock - saved @ AUS$2000 - and I love the bike. So I am a little biased.........

I think no matter what year you buy, you'll love it, but the later model, the less kms on it.
