Loctite and appropriate torque?

The service manual is great at defining the appropriate torque to apply to fasteners. However certain fasteners explicitly say to use loctite, others say nothing. Is there any guidence on what to do when you apply loctite to any of the fasteners that do not explicitly say to use loctite. What has been your practice. Do you still tighten down to the listed torque? I'm always a little concerned it may act like a lubricant and I may be appling too much torque.

When using Loctite always torque according to specs

If the fastener calls for locktite in the manual, then the given torque value will take into account the reduced friction from the locktite.

If it doesn't call for locktite and there is a torque value listed, you'd be justified in reducing the torque some.

The idea is that if the threads are lubricated, you'll still be twisting to the same torque, but the tension on the bolt will be greater, leading to stripped threads.

I haven't seen a definitive answer to your question. Personally, I don't use Locktite unless it's called for, and tighten to the specified torque. If you're going to locktite everything, torque becomes less important.
