OK - having ridden all of 400 miles on the FZ, I find odd that everything in front of me (cars and bikes) can go past, yet as I approach, BIRDS fly from every direction as if they wish to die by striking me!!!

Keep you're eyes peeled and visor down, but I swear they freak out by the sound the FZ makes!

Anyone notice this???

I don't know what to make of it other than WTF? Where's OMG_WTF? I bet he has an answer!

I almost got it from a wild turkey a few years ago. I had to get flat on the tank as it passed over me. It was close and I would have been screwed or making stuffing that night....
Another time a bird hit my knee. I was at about 80 MPH. I spun around to find it in case I could help and it was instant for it the poor thing.

Hey, how big are the bird that are flying at you? I know what you mean though. Had a couple shoot out in front of me today. The best though was last fall when when I literally had to put my head behind the wind screen or catch turkey dinner in the face. F...ing bird tried to kill me.

EDIT Motogiro as much as I would like to go for a ride with you someday, maybe it would be a bad idea with the turkeys out to kill us.

Robins, sparrows, finch, a black crow was the biggest.

It just seems odd that a whole string of traffic flies by them (pun intended) and then they get freaked by a stock FZ! A couple made me duck as they would have winged me! haha!

It's not the FZ the birds hate, it's your pipes....on my Two Brothers equipped Fizzer, i get attacked all the time....yes, birds fly straight at me!!!! In fact one particular Eagle has flown out of the same tree 3 times, and gone straight at my helmet!!!! I even have video evidence, and 3rd party witness's!!!!

The real thing or the bottle? LOL!

Pffftt.....better than deer coming at you.....

I haven't had many on the moto's, but I have been noticing a lot of birds just flying out right in front of my car at the last second lately. Maybe they suddenly share the same dislike of motorcycles as dogs? Animals, go figure!

It happened! Took a little birdie out as he clipped the fairing. . .

I'd been following a thug and his lady on an HD and had my buddy behind me so I waited for straight stretch were we could pass together and have fun in the corners ahead. But NO, the HD had the cager mindset and Sped up when I went to pass. I was dropping gears fast and went past at 95 or so. Just beyond that a bird smacked the fairing so I pulled off and went back to see if it was just stunned by the Fazzer or if it was set to kill. I gave him 5 or 6 min and he wasn't improving. . .

Needless to say the HD @sshole gave me horns and fingers as I pulled off. And after him holding us up for 5 miles. . . and then thinking his steal would beat mine. . . DORK!

Ya - got to do it all over again later even after stopping. . . Just happened to be a passing lane that time but he gave a nice solo finger again.

In Alabama the hawks are finely coming back strong after all the ddt or what ever killed them off and I love to see them on the trees and power poles.
They never pay you any attention, their looking out for lunch.
Well the day I drilled out my muffler I saw and passed one of my favorite hawks on a power line.:D
He turned his head all the way around kind a like an owl do's and checked me and I thought it was so cool.
Now after reading all this it hits me he may have been taking aim but I just happen to be to fast for him'

+^ Funny!

That reminds me, I've never seen an Eagle in the city limits and while stopped for lunch on Saturday ride (eating outside) we saw one fly over. It had some menacing little bird a fraction its size pestering it. Thankfully it made no assault on us while riding or eating for that manor. . .

I think there is only one solution to this that makes sense.... you absolutely have to get an aftermarket exhaust. Just tell yourself you're doing it for all the little birdies out there if it helps you justify it. :BLAA:

Lets start a "Save the Birds Funding" for Final Impact's Raven!

I like this; let me know when you get $600USD and hand it over! :D

You're one smart guy!

I haven't had that problem with birds.

I can't say I'd mind running into a few around my neighborhood though; for years I had an empty back patio but a clean one -- I get some furniture on it this year and there's bird drop EVERYWHERE.

Two sparrows came together and hit me in the helmet...glad I had my visor down. Also, ran over a chicken once on my bike...feathers everywhere! What happened when the chicken crossed the road? Well now you know!!:sinister:
