Just got my first FZ6 :-)

I just picked up my first FZ6 and wanted to introduce myself to the forum.
I got a used '05 with only 2,400mi on it... I look forward to putting many miles on this year and using the forum for mod ideas... Any suggestions for my first ones?

Frame Sliders, Biker Dude 43 Dual headlight mod, and make sure to call a dealer and make sure the Recalls have been done for that bike. Just call a Yamaha service shop and give them your VIN number. They can look up if the TPS sensor was replaced. I forget what the other recall was?

Your first mods is good riding gear. I see too many new riders without decent boots, pants jacket gloves and helmet.

speaking of which - a rider on an r6 filtered down the middle past me (which is illegal here in PA) wearing shorts, converse sneakers, no helmet, jacket, or gloves. Perfect example.

I agree riding gear and frame sliders should be #1.

Other than that, I painted my windscreen black to match my bike and gear. It cost me 5$ for the paint and 2 hours of my time (most of which was waiting time). Well, well worth it. New signal markers, taillight, fender eliminator? Those are all secondary to the riding gear and frame sliders.

Mods:

1. for you - all the gear. Boots, helmet, good jacket and pants with armour, quality gloves.

2. for the bike - frame sliders, adhesive remover to get the swing arm stickers off! LED signals are a nice safety feature. If you're tall like me a touring windscreen is a good upgrade.

3. for the wife - get her some Twighlight novels so she won't miss you too much!!

Welcome to the forum! Looks suspiciously like the bike advertised on NESR. Looks nice from the pics there. I am not sure what it already has, but frame sliders I feel are important. If you ride much on the highway, a Puig racing screen would help. I use my bike for commuting to work and the store, so I put a big trunk on it. For winter, Gerbing heated gloves (if you plan to ride then). Hopefully, the New England group will get together for another ride when it warms up!

Thanks for the suggestions.. It's already got the fender eliminator and I just ordered the integrated tail light... Did you use actual paint windscreen or did you use that stuff that you can use to smoke car headlights, etc?
