Is it just me? (Cracked frames)

Is it just me or is there a whole lot more frames developing that same crack? Seems like something yamaha should have looked into way more for a recall

When I found mine there was 3 recorded cases, plenty more now.

I hope people have been checking their engine bolts as a result, I'm confident it's the primary cause.

When I fixed mine about 2 years ago there was a good bit more than just 3 but they keep adding up none the less. The engine bolts definitely don't help but its also a design flaw in the casting of the frame, there is no webbing in the area that always cracks, I think yamaha should be taking a better look into this.

Also I don't think I've noticed any cracking on the S2's I wonder if they are cast the same way? Or if I just haven't noticed any on the S2's

Gotta riding buddy who's frame cracked on his '07 FZ1. Despite being long outta warranty, Yamaha replaced the frame no questions asked in a timely fashion. :thumbup:
