Wow, outstanding historical photos - thank you.

I often forget what a f****** mess the Spanish Civil War was. Its legacy, of course, continues to affect modern Spanish politics and life, as does WWII in general, continue to affect and shape modern politics.

Personally I think anyone who likes war needs their head read. Kaz appreciates the sacrifice that soldiers make for their country and the generations that follow them. As should all of us.

i was in Dinant not that long ago, very beautifull city (one of this countries prettiest imo). seeing this picture http://cdn.theatlantic.com/static/infocus/ww2_3/s_w19_06201158.jpg of it is quite shocking really.

Respect to anybody who gave their lives (and the ones that were lucky enough to make it out alive) so we could have our freedom, Belgium will never forget !

Wish the people my age causing so much damage in London would take a look at the 45 photos of the Battle of Britain. It's sad to see how similar recent photos of London appear.
