I'm devastated -lost my baby Senna

Karen, I am so sorry for you and Mike. I'm glad you have your other dog to comfort you, as she will need it too. HUGS to you all.

Very sorry to hear about your loss.

Dogs are amazing.

I have always loved them, I can't even think about our beloved boxer Penelope leaving us, she's 9 years old already, not precisely young for a dog.

Having lost other 4 legged members of the family in the past I know how you feel.

I'm Sorry to hear about your loss,It's a hard thing to have to deal with espeacaily during the Holiday's.... :(

Gutted for you Kaz,
Dogs ask for so little and give so much. We has to have Scoobie put to sleep after a speeding driver Ran him down.
What happened to Senna?

Nelly

Her back legs gave in on Monday arvo. Took her straight to vet - suspected cancer of the spleen. Ultrasound on Tuesday morning confirmed it. She had internal bleeding and gave her a couple of days without surgery and 50/50 with risky surgery.

She was 13. We had a lovely day with her Tuesday before we had to say goodbye. She was happy. Mike shared a beer with her (her special treat), I gave her cheese (she LOVED cheese) and she got to open her Christmas present. Our other Labrador, Brocky, is a little lost right now. She is blind and misses her sister.

Thank you all so much for your kind words.

Sorry to hear this, Karen.
When I was 6 my dad took me to pick out a Lab puppy, that puppy grew to be a 100#+ male and was my guardian.
I was able to come full circle with him...
Picked him, raised him, and put him down.
I feel your loss.

Sorry to hear about that loss of your puppy Karen. 13 dog years is a good life with lots of love and good memories. She is family and she'll be missed. Sorry. . .

We lost our dog, Gromit, about 2 years ago and took comfort in the story of the Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Stella, our new dog (not a replacement dog) is now 2 years old and as big a part of the family as Gromit was.

This image gave me so much peace! It gives you a bit of a chuckle too. And it is so TRUE!!!!!

Of course it hurt. That's because she was a very special part of your life You're (both of you) lucky to have met. Just think, how would it be if there was no death on earth? Can you imagine...? You knew it from the beginning (she probably did, too). In a way, it's also beautiful. Shooting stars are special.

Sorry for your loss Karen. I know It must be incredibly hard.
