If you don't ride in the rain...

when i did my direct access (3 full days training followed by test on the 4th day)..it lashed down every day..i had to actually readjust my riding to dry weather as my training had made me more comfortable in the wet.

its deffinatley a skill im glad i aquired..but i hate the wet with a passion,unfortunatley as steve said ,us northen europeans just have to accept it and get on with it

Where i live it rains a lot in the spring. So if you live here you have to get used to the rain if you want to ride year around. Very cool video.:thumbup:

I have yet to ride my own bike in the rain, but have been cupcake a couple of times! Good gear is key here....because when it's raining at 8 or 9,000 ft., it's damn cold!

Not all members are "hard core" riders such as You, Travis or myself. They are just simply "weekend or fair weather riders" similar to skiers. Kind of like other recreational sports, some just don't like to go skiing when there is a snowstorm on the mountain, or golf when it's raining or wet. But I like so many of you, are always looking to improve my riding skills. And riding in the rain is an important skill to have underneath your belt and may save your life, just because you have that experience. Similar to having experience driving in the snow or on ice. Unless you have never done it, you'll never improve as a driver, and if you are in a jam and have to go out and drive in that bad weather, you are endangering yourself and the others around you. That goes with riding, so that "free" clinic was a great educational expererience. And if there is no clinic, just go out and get wet and log some miles, it will eventually pay off and come in handy down the road.

In Europe it can be sunny in the morning and raining..well, whenever it wants to so we would never get out if we didn`t ride in the rain. It is not "hardcore" riding here, it is just normal riding for everyone.

BUt if someone offered me a snow or ice riding course for free..and on their bike...as if!!! I would do it just for the experience.

I do not ride in the winter..biking for me is a luxury and not a necessity.
