This is my fourth year on my Shoei and what started out as a great fitting helmet seems to be getting smaller and smaller, or maybe my head is getting bigger. Started noticing it last year, on long rides I'd start to get headaches and the helmet would really bother me. It's at the point this year where I think I'm going to have to break down and buy a new one.

Weird, never would have thought your helmet size would change

I think it's more likely that the suspension padding is worn out and allowing the hard parts of the helmet press on your head....

STOP TAKING THE ROIDS :spank:

Just Joking:D

You didn't mension how old you were. If your yonger then yea, your head might be getting a little bigger. If anything U would think that with 4 years use it would get looser.

hahaha, I'm 25, I'll have to double check but I think I'm past puberty :D

I guess the twenty pounds I've put on since I bought it aren't helping the situation

My Shoei that I had for years shrank too. It started out as a tight-fitting helmet, then I took a break from motorcycling, and when I got the FZ6, it had gotten smaller!

Actually, like you, I'd put on some weight, and it dramatically affected the fit of the helmet.

Happens to the best of us. I proved the equation:

:spam: + :iconbeer: = :tard:

Hello, there.
If your hair is curly, then probabely need a haircut.
Mine is curly, and I couldn't keep a or couple of month with it for the helmet.
I bought my helmet when my hair was not that long...
So, if hair grows up, then I feel that "My Helmet Is Shrinking!!!!".
Ha ha ha...

Yes, when you put on weight, your head gets fatter too! :D A helmet that fits "properly" can't stand much growth. Drop that 20 lbs and I'll bet the helmet fits perfect once again.

:D

:D

that would involve me stopping drinking and stopping eating good fatty food

me thinks I'll just get a new helmet :Flip:

Okay. Well first of all I have commend everyone for trying to help you out with this shrinking helmet thing. I had the exact same thing happen to me a while back and my wife gave me the name of a homeopathic supply place that specializes in things of this nature. Now I can wear a helmet a few sizes smaller!

Check it out.
