2004 Chevy Tahoe with a 5.3 liter V8. I change the oil when the oil life monitor is between 5% and 10% remaining. I use Pennzoil Gold semi-synthetic.

This averages between 4,500 and 6,000 miles depending on the time of year and the amount of trailer towing I do.

I have a '10 Infiniti G37. The book calls for 3,750 miles, an odd number. I also find it odd that a modern Japanese car can "only" go 3,750 miles between changes. So I use full synthetic and go 7,500 miles.

Anywhere from 3000 miles to 5500 miles BUT I use synthetic and most of my driving is long distance, (no short trips which really pollutes your oil).

2010 Honda Odyssey - when the indicator gets down to 15% oil life
2004 Chevrolet Colorado truck - when the indicator says it's due or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Both are done at factory dealerships. (What can I say, I'm lazy)

I change the oil in my Fusion when the car tells me to. So far it's been about 9,000 miles per change. I'm using Ford motor craft semi synthetic, just like the manual says.

I usually change mine between 3000 and 5000 miles but closer to 5000. I always use Mobil 1 Synthetic, I always change the filter and I always change it hot.

Every 5000 miles. Makes it easy to remember. It's a 96 Jeep Cherokee anyway, so I could change it every 20,000 miles and it would hardly matter. It's too easy on the 4.0 so I just get the $20 kit from the local chain store.

Dino oil only. The new synthetic stuff would probably give my Jeep a complex.

The Acura is a different issue. Full synthetic, every 5,000. It came with a complex so I cater to it's...needs. :D

And I have no idea how often the wife changes the oil in her Sienna. Probably every time she cleans it - never.

I had a 1993 Jeep Cherokee with that invincible 4.0L, and yeah... change the oil don't change the oil. It doesn't matter to that beast lol (I miss mine terribly and would still drive it if I wasn't spoiled by the gas mileage of my Saturn) Such an amazing vehicle though and likely the one I'd choose if the world went to hell! to yours!

I dunno what it is about that stupid Jeep but I like it. Crap gas mileage, junky Chrysler paint job that's flaking, cheap interior parts that rattle like a coffee can full of marbles, drooping headliner, crappy headlights, terrible rear shock design.... I could keep going but I would never run out of crap that breaks. Just Empty Every Pocket.

Took that damn thing to the woods this year and went places that our military Hummers couldn't go. 800 miles off-road in 95+F and it performed like a champ.

Back to the original topic though, I've noticed that design has more of an effect on how well an engine performs with/without oil changes. The Jeep just doesn't care. The CL-S and Sienna both act little whiny children after 5k miles.

Take a Land Rover (not the Defender....) for instance - miss an oil change or two and you're buying a new engine.

2001 Toyota Four Runner, 14,000 original miles. It gets changed once a year, regular dino oil.

Its not unusual to have 800 miles on the old oil when it comes out.

(I do have more miles as on the bike as its my primary and get 2-3x's the MPG's)

I have an 06 Acura RSX Type-S. I run it a bit hard but still go 10,000 miles between changes with Mobil1 synthetic. With approximately 70,000 miles on the odometer, I NEVER need to add any during the cycle and get great fuel mileage.

All the threads about changing the oil in your bike. How often do you change it in your car? What sort of car? And what sort of oil?

With the subject line, I thought there was some kind of new lubrication system on my bike that I didn't yet know about. Definitely walked out and started looking for a cage. ;) Sometimes I wonder about myself.

I drive a Subaru Forester. It's red and it gets wolf's head (some smyth auto oil) every 5-7000 miles.

I thought the same!

No car, just FZ6 and bicycle!

P.S. I have a Subaru Impreza WRC but is Nitro, remote control, so I guess it doesn't count...
