I'm in the market to pick up a used FZ6. I know the market is soft right now. What would be a good price for a low mile, basically stock bike?

2005 - $????
2006 - $????
2007 - $????
2008 - $????

Thanks in advance!

Since you don't live in Iowa and you probably won't come buy the bike I want...

There is a dealer with a NEW 2005 FZ1 in stock. They are asking $6500, but I bet with cash they would take $6,000.

To me this seems like a steal, since a used FZ6 with 6k miles cost me $4,000.

I don't know much about used FZ1s, I have only seen a couple on CL and they were going for around $6,000.

Here's a starting point. This guy sells on ebay and is about an hour from us. VERY reputable used dealer and tells it like it is. National Powersports Distributors Current Inventory- 1-603-410-4120 shows two 2006 FZ1 bikes and both are $5,995.00 which is negotiable. :D

You could fly here, pick one up and ride it back to AZ! ;) You can crash here until the deal is sealed. And, we can go ride and give it a proper shakedown.

Please accept my apologies! I meant to ask about used FZ6's. I've corrected my post. I started out looking at the FZ1's and realized that I would be better suited on a 6. :spank:

Take 2!

$4,000 - $5,000 depending on the condition, mileage, and aftermarket accessories.

I payed $8,000 for mine new with 0 miles, stock. You can find decked out fz6's on CL or eBay for around $5,000 with under or around 10 or 15,000 miles.

I paid $4,000 for my 2006 about 6 months ago.

It has fender eliminator, flush mount signals and scorpion pipes.

It had 6500 miles when I bought it and new handlebars, since the previous owner found out the hard way that clip-ons hit the tank if you screw up. (it has 2 dings to prove it)

just a month ago i bought an 08 with 1600 miles from a private seller for $4800. I wiggled her down from $5500. Do your homework and stick to what YOU ARE WILLING to pay.

Before I got my 09, I was close to buying a used 2008 that a guy was selling for $4500. It had 1800 miles on it. I called him and asked why so cheap, is there something wrong with it? He said it's in mint condition and he needs the money. My wife wanted to buy new so I got the 09 instead.

I just picked up my '04 in early July for $3200. It had about 14k miles on it and came with a Joe Rocket Jacket, a Tourmaster Jacket, both with armor inserts, a pair of Icon leather gloves, an HJC helmet, a set of saddlebags, two tail bags and a tank bag.

Low miles is kinda relative. Does 14k miles qualify as low miles on an engine that will run 100k miles? Is it worth an extra $1000 to you to get a bike with say 4000 miles instead?

Keep a close eye on Craigslist, and look at areas outside of your own city but that are still fairly close by. I had to drive a couple of hours to get mine.

It is a GOOD time to buy.

Good advice. Also, enlist other forum members to check bikes out in their city for you, send pics, and advise. Most often, others are very willing to assist.

End of the summer (for those of us Up Over :)) is a great time to buy a bike!

BTW, I paid $3500 for an 07 with 7k mi. 2 months ago. The bike is in like new condition. Bargains are out there!
