I KNOW THERE'S LOT OF THREAD ALREADY POSTED ON HERE FOR THIS SYMPTOM. IT'S FUNNY THIS HAPPEN RIGHT AFTER I GOT THIS BIKE.. --; :ban:

ANYWAY I'LL TRY TO MAKE THIS STORY SHORT. GOT THE BIKE LAST WEEKEND. TEST RIDE WAS GOOD SO CAME HOME. ADJUST CHAIN & LUBE CHECK THE BATTERY. TOOK COUPLE DAYS TO FINISH DMV & INSURANCE. PUT NEW TAG ON WENT FOR RIDE.... JERKING AROUND 3500 RPM AFTER RUNS OK.. CALLED YAMAHA DEALER THEY CHECKED VIN # TPS ALREADY DONE. I RAN DIAG MODE ON DISPLAY TPS READING 17 MIN 103 MAX NUMBER INCREASE SEEMS FINE.

NOW I'M CHECKING ON WIRING FROM ECU TO EVERYTHING. GIVE ME ANY ADVICE. I SEEN MANY POST HERE ALREADY FIXED THIS KIND OF SYMPTOMS BUT EACH CASE SOLUTION WAS DIFFERENT. IT RAN GREAT THE DAY I TEST IT// ONLY 6 DAYS AGO . BUMMER//

unfortunately it can be anything from bad gas to clogged injector, to spark plugs, to sensors mis-reading...

it will be tough to narrow it down, but let's start at the beginning.

When you put the key in and turn it on with the kill switch in the run position, is there a healthy sounding whirrrr from under the tank?

Ok, next, after starting the bike does it idle smoothly?

when you twist the throttle while in neutral does it rev up smoothly? or is it only jerky under load?

how long did the bike sit before you bought it? How was it stored for this time?

have you put any gas in it since you bought it?

That should get us started...

THANKS GUYS //

DEALER SERVICE WILL BE SCHEDULED AFTER MY INSPECTION. I'M NOT DONE WITH INSPECTING THIS BIKE MYSELF.

ANSWERS FOR REIOBARD : KEY ON FUEL PUMP HUMMING GOOD / STARTS FINE IDLE GOOD 1260-1340 RPM / NEUTRAL REV UP FINE NO HESITATION / IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR COUPLE WEEKS FROM PREVIOUS OWNER / I USED HAND PUMP TO SUCK OUT OLD GAS & PUT 91 YESTERDAY STILL SAME. ONLY ACTING WHEN IT'S RUNNING ALL GEAR AROUND 3000 - 4000 RPM GIVING ME KICK TO GROIN

I'M GOING TO POP GAS TANK & CHECK THE FUEL SUPPLY LINE WITH AIR.CHECKED MANY WIRES CONNECTORS SO FAR EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE.I CLEANED CONNECTORS WHEN I POP THEM WITH ELECTRIC CLEANER SPRAY.

THANKS AGAIN GUYS// MAYBE I GOT CURSED BY SV650S I TESTED BUT WALKED AWAY.

Caps Lock hurts my eyes!
I use 98 Oct fuel always, and have had similar issues since buying at a different station the other day. Pretty sure their 98 Oct tanks where full of 10% ethanol crap to be honest.
Also some people have the TPS issue multiple times so don't discount that too quickly.
Maybe run through a injector cleaner for a tank of fuel, and check the plugs like Reiobard suggested.
When you cleaned out the old fuel did it look like there was water/rust in it? How does the inside of the tank look? If its rusted could be an issue there.
Check the fuel filter and see what it looks like as if its something in the fuel that might be the issue.

If you take it to the dealer make sure they ride it and acknowledge the problems your feeling, often they aren't familiar with a bike and will just assume something is normal and charge you to do very little (from my past experiences).

Not sure if you have already done this but taking the bike for a nice big ride, on a highway for a lengthier period of time might also be an idea, if it hasn't been used much or only for short trips this can really clean everything out.
If its really extreme then probably avoid riding, on my 250 while learning I had similar symptons that got worse until the bike wouldn't run at all, happened in busy traffic and was not a fun experience. In that case it was rust in the tank clogging the fuel filter and going all the way through to the carbies.
