ps...maybe before the headlight,scoop,and pipes you should consider frame sliders....but I'm sure you already knew that lurker...

I just got my bike, and just signed up to this wonderful forum. Excuse my newbie ignorance, but what are sliders (other than White Castle burgers), where do they go, and what kind should I get?

Sweet bike I love the Naked Streetfighter look too... I hate my fairings, Im thinking of large caged headlights... Go with kind of a MAD MAX look...

They are sort of what crash bars are on cruisers. They mount to the frame on either side:

And should you ever tip the bike over, they'll help in minimizing the repair bill. However, bad things can happen with sliders if the bike is sliding on its side across uneven road (several videos out there of sliders catching and bike flipping over).
