help with license light wires please!

howdy guys. my bike came with a fender elim. on it and i am trying to install some license bolt lights and was wondering if the blue and black wires with the female barrel connects under the drivers side hip plastic are the hot and ground. the blue is hot when the ignition comes on but am wondering about the black if it is the ground? any help is great, thank you! bb-c

I've just checked the service manual and found there is a blue wire (pos.) and a black wire (neg.) that feed the license plate light. This should be the same circuit that feeds your tail light running light filament.

Yup, that's how I wired my plate bolt lights. Blue to red of bolt and black to black.
