Here is my story on trying to buy a brand new FZ6 in Lynnwood, WA.. which is north of SEATTLE. I went to the dealer and wanted to know how much it would cost to buy a new one. I already research and know the Dealer invoice of $5951 for the FZ6. They had the advertisement of taking 750 off of the msrp but then you had to add the shipping cost and dealer cost and what not and the total came up to $8200. Well I told them that i was not willing to pay that much. We were talking next to the bike and either another salesman or a manager happen to come by when i said i was not willing to pay that much for the bike and he said they woud not go down from it. I never told them that I knew the dealer invoice price. I just said OK thank you for your time and left.
There were all sorts of price addig that they were posting. One was shipping. which was aroun $588. Another was dealer cost of $199 and other stuff which brought the total cost of $8200.
My question is this. If the shipping cost is already part of the Dealer invoice why would dealers add in another shipping cost? The dealer invoice shows the shipping at $219. The dealer says its at $588.
How do i go about haggling to ensure I get the best price. I understand they have to make money and I am willing to pay up to 10% over the dealer invoice. Is that too low and would probably not be able to get that price? Anyone in the area of SEATTLE have any advice. I only see 8 locations near my area i would like to drive to to haggle prices.
Thank you,
