HELP! Stolen bike...

Bike was stolen, they tried drilling out the key starter/ignition and lock but didn't successfully do it. They also took some electrical stuff on the side, a relay of some sort on the right, i think its the flasher relay but I that's about all I can see. I got the bike back and I figured out how to unlock my handlebars but now it won't start at all, it will try turning over but the engine won't go... Any help?

probably should do yourself a favor and have the dealer fix it.. then you know its back to original... sucks, but hey, at least you got it back.... good luck

Pretty hard to try and diagnosewhat the problem is with "some electrical stuff on the side, a relay of some sort on the right".

Time to use that insurance you pay for and put in a claim to get it fixed by a professional (dealer)and back to new!

Do ypu have insurance? They should cover repairs at the dealer for you to make it right again.

Make sure they replace not only the ignition but the gas cap, seat lock and helmet lock as well so the single key will once again open them all.

The bill will not be small so I hope you do have coverage for at least theft.

no I don't want a dealer to fix it, they charge to much. And insurance won't fix it. I was thinking it was the immobilation thing with the computer, a new chip should work with a new ignition key starter ya?

Wow, insurance won't fix it?? That's rough. The ignition unit is going to cost you... Big $$$. Why won't the insurer fix it??

As Boneman said, without details of the electrical stuff that got messed with, hard to say what's gone on.

Confused? Why wont your insurance fix it?

I said to use the dealer to fix it if insurance was paying for it. If insurance pays, who cares how much it costs as you only pay the deductable.

Without looking at the bike and seeing what is missing/dammaged, there is no way to tell what you require to fix it.

without knowing what exactly is missing, we really cant help you.. if you could post up some pics maybe.. but if you dont know what your looking at, take it to the dealer...:thumbup:

Ok you got it back ... Great!! You don't want to let a pro (dealer) control the bike, it's a choice. Now you have to perform some checks.Did you check how light your transponder light in the dashboard (red blinking light) fix or blinking? If your fuses are good, your ignition system is probably blocked by your anti-theft system (damaged key-lock block). Let us know the results. (somes pics of this part will be useful)

We don't have the immobilizer. And to retrofit I think you would need a new ECU as well. So, the ignition here should be much cheaper.

Great point. Hadn't thought about it that way. Does seem odd...just signed up and posted this as 1st post, sketchy info and not wanting to use insurance.
