Have you had a tire blowout?

Just curious about our experience here.

Have you had a tire blow out? Was it repaired prior to the blowout? What type of repair was made?

EDIT: This thread/poll isn't about flat tires, we already have plenty of those.

Never had a blow out, picked up some nails/screws which started to go flat while riding. About 25 miles from home, several stops at a gas station to top off got me home.. Both instances, the tires were close to being worn out (maybe another 1,000 miles), I just replaced them..

If the tire is close to being worn, it gets replaced...

Yessir, had a rear blow out coming back from a trip (about 30 miles from home)
Traveling app. 60mnh, then POOF.. Back end sliding to the right, so a little
counter steering prevented a slap against the guard rail
No repair, the tire was beat. Friend came w/ pickup truck

Interesting results so far: 4 people responding, all had blowouts on tires not previously repaired. Anyone else have experiences to share?

I've never had a blowout... and even though this thread isn't about flats, haven't had one of those either.

Had a blow out at 75 on the freeway last summer. Had to change my pants!

I don't know how I didn't wreck, got lucky I guess. Now I check tires every trip just in case.
