Hi folks,

I'm back. I ended up buying a 2002 FZ1. Seeing as the FZ1 and FZ6 are like brothers, I thought I'd ask some questions here.

I bought some Pro Grip 719 grips for my bike. The issue is that they are .23 inches longer than stock. I've gotten two proposed solutions: cut the grips or move the controls. Moving the controls requires that you break off the guide pin that goes into the bars.

I really want to put the riser extension in the picture below. My fear is that this will require cable/hose replacement. Looking at the brake hose, I really can't see this working without replacing the brake hose at a minimum. Can I buy factory hoses in longer lengths or is the only option a universal steel braided line.

Thanks for any and all input.

Numerous of us have put the 1"-up-1"-back bar risers on the FZ6. In our case, there is enough slack in the brake hose to accomodate without changing out the cable. We usually have to re-adjust the tie-clamp that holds the brake hose to the fork.

But if you want a comfortable Yamaha, how about trying an FZ6...?
