Has anyone had any luck getting ride of that once piece handlebar clamp on the 2007+ FZ6? I really want to attach a GPS to my bars, but the clamp is in the way.

When I put my bar risers on.
It gave me a naked bar.
Got 'em at,twistedthrottle.com,
SW Motec.

Don't want a riser, the stock bar height is already sky high.

I'v thought about going with the 04-06 clamps, but am unsure on all of the parts I would need. The part websites are rather vague.

If you are wanting to pull the stock top clamps off and put 04-06 clamps on you should only need the clamps. The bolts possibly as well but I do not see why you would need anything else unless you have an aftermarket triple.

The clamps are part number 4H7-23441-01-35, not sure about the bolts though!

Also, have you looked into GPS pouches that use velcro?

I have something like this, and it fits perfectly on the middle clamp:

BIKE IT SAT NAV GPS MOTORCYCLE HOLDER CARRIER BAG POUCH WATER RESISTANT | eBay

You can see the velcro part on the bars in this pic:

How sturdy is the velcro?

Here, this is the actual one i have, it's a bit more expensive than the one i posted earlier:

GPS MOTO - So Easy Rider - Site officiel du fabricant - Manufacturer official website Support GPS moto So Easy Rider V5 Support iphone moto - support samsung moto - support smartphone pour moto

The velcro is very sturdy (3M), it really doesn't go anywhere without you ripping it of. I have done 130mph with the GPS on and was never worried it would fly off and hit me in the face.

The large flat clamp actually makes a great support for it and makes it very secure.
