I'd like to put side cases on my 2004 FZ6. I like the look of the Givi V35 bags - but don't want the top case and don't like the look of the top rack that they say has to be installed even if you only want side bags. Does anyone have the V35 bags without the top case rack installed? How?

Or, does anyone have other hard bag suggestions that look good on this bike. I'd love to see some pics. I didn't see many with side bags in the galleries.

Please help!

Its no problem to mount it without topcase. There is a kit aviable from givi. Another possibility is the removable quick lock SW-Motech holder.

Thanks Rob. Great pics! Maybe you can help me out here....I contacted Givi and was told the adapter kit does not work for the V35 bags and mounts for the FZ6. It only works for the soft bags. He said you must use the top rack mounts even if you don't want the top case. If you know differently......

Talk to me about the SW Motech holder. Is this instead of the givi mounts or in addition to the givi mounts?

The sw-motech does not fit 2004-2006

STOP!

Attention here.
1. Kris80 is correct. SW-Motech removable side case holder is only fr >=2007 (S2) models.
2. For the V35 cases you need the PLX(!) versions of the holder, NOT the PL version. The PLX351 for 2004-2006 and the PLX360 for >=2007 (alternative here is SW-Motech holder)
3. For the PLX360 you did not need the topcase holder. You can use the 351Kit instead, as spock said.
4. For the PLX351 you _NEED_ the top case holder, cause the blinker need to be relocated and they are mounted to the topcase holder.
5. The blinker need to be relocated on both version, but the new holder from the PLX360 is at the PLX360 itself.
6. However there is a workaround, to use the PLX351 with 351Kit instead of the top case holder.
Its described here:

@mysteryjunky:
Do you have a 2004-2006 or a >=2007?

Robert - you are awesome!! I have a 2004 - which seems to be why this is such an issue. Now, I just have to see if the guy that is supposed to install these will do what Interactive3 did. Keep your fingers crossed.

Rear end of 2004 - 2009 are identical as far as I know for GIVI rack install. I installed GIVI racks on my (2008) and help install OMG_WTF's (2006) and did the exact same thing using exact same parts. If you don't want the top case, you just need the kit that gives you the PIA to install brackets that go around the exhaust cover. GIVI changed how they relocate the turn signals, but, I would just drop what they have and put your own smaller turn signals either on your fender or on fender eliminator of some sort.

the subframe on 2004-2006 is different from 2007-2009. as such, the passenger peg location is slightly different and thus, givi has the 351 and 360 kits designated for what year bike you have.

That makes sense. Thanks for correcting me. They didn't look different on the 2006, but, it must be visual thing.

They are listed here for 04-06. Am I missing something?

They are not for V35 PLX Cases. You can only use them with other GIVI side cases. You need SW-MOTECH Contour sidecarriers which is not available for pre 07 bikes.

Nope, the SW-Motech Quick lock side case holder for Givi V35 will _NOT_ fit on 2004-2006.
These adapters are for European FZ6 Fazer non-S2 >=2007 RJ14.
It's a version you didn't have in the US.

It is a RJ14 and it is almost like your 2004-2006 RJ07 model.
But it has a regulated catalytic converter AND the lowered(!) passenger footpeg position of the RJ14. For this bike the adapters are.

The 2004-2006 RJ07 has higher passenger footpeg positions so this will NOT work.
