I had a similar incident in a corner at roughly 50mph (no guardrail, just cattle fencing) about 6 weeks ago. Luckily I only dislocated and busted up some fingers, and I was wearing full gear as well. Got the bike upright and rode it home, though not as far as you did!

I've ridden on about a dozen short rides since completing the rebuild of the bike, and each time I feel a little better in corners, but I am super wary of gravel. Good luck to you, glad to see you came out okay! Here's to hoping you continue riding!

Wow!!! Not lucky to come off, but darn lucky with the outcome. Looks like the rim has hit the post and bounced the bike back out again. It's the only way I can think of for the bike to be in the shape it's in.

Great to hear you're OK:cheer:. Like we all know, those rails can really mess you up. You must have been storing up some karma in the bank...lol...better get some more in there, 'cause you just used up a big chunk.

Terrible thing to happen though, that thing running out under your wheel like that (thanks Wavex:thumbup.

Looks like the rim has hit the post and bounced the bike back out again.

That is what happened for sure, I think the back wheel nailed the wood post and tossed the bike right back out on the highway. The back of the bike swung out when it hit and tossed me down the hwy in front of the bike, then the bike continued on behind me landing on my head. I am shocked the rear tire did not blow out. If the bike had hit any other way the out come may not of been so good, that I am sure of!

I went down to WA state yesterday on my FZ6 from Osoyoos, BC, which is right on the BC/Washington border. I rode in company with a Bandit 1250 and a GXSR1000 to Winthrop and back. There was a lot of sand, gravel and debris on Hwy 20 and Hwy 7 from the high winds that were blowing over the last few days. I almost had an off at a sharp left hander that took me by surprise (yeah...I know...but if you saw where it was you'd say "oh yeah...that's pretty tricky").
I'm really glad you came out of it ok...it could have been so much worse. As for not riding again, well..that's how I felt after my 2nd crash many moons ago.
You'll ride again.
