fz6 stator replacement

FinalImpact I did not drive it after I dropped it It had no oil in it when I picked it up off the ground. Have not tried starting it sense it was shut off from the tip over switch. I plan on replacing the stator, generator rotor because they are beyond repair.

Thanks for the picture. I see its just a paper weight in the making now.
As you said, i sas pretty sure once down it was not fired off again, its just hard to believe all that burning happened so quickly. Unless the charging system was compromised before the accident and this brought it to light??? Was it performing well before?

I would think, just the "regular RPM's", once the two parts meet the pavement, spinning @3K PlUS RPM, a bunch of damage can occur, even for those couple of seconds..

I figured it was just the way the stator case broke it jammed the stator into the generator rotor were the 3 bolts on the generator rotor ground into the stator. But then again I was spinning in circles on the road when it happend so I didn't get a birds eye view on my bike as it was sliding down the pavment. :)

I was screwing with ya... ;)

I don't have frame sliders either (I'm the minority). I would rather have your damage than a broke frame (totaled bike), and just don't like the looks of them..

Just keep your eyes' open, those parts are available here from wrecked bikes all the time. I'd buy here way before I'd buy on E-Bay.

I didn't see the thread that was open on buying/selling parts I only saw the classified ads link at the top of the page. Wow there's a lot of parts on here I'm so happy I didn't buy the parts I need yet, thanks for telling me about that.

Yep, there's NOT much here you can't find. Used aftermarket exhaust too, but those go REAL FAST (no pun intended:thumbup:)
