It's not listed in the Haynes manual either. I have engine bars too and I had to swap out the bolts. Give me a while and I will remove one. When you say thread step are you looking at the distance between threads?
I'm used to working in TPI (teeth per inch)

sorry for bad english - "thread step" stands for
thread pitch
pitch of screw
etc.

i suppose it's pitch from picture (what pitch for our bolts?)

Nothing wrong with your English, it's my old fashioned way of imperial thinking. I will go and remove the left side now.

thanks Bro

it really helped,

in Russia mostly on fz6 we has such kind of bars (check link), so i suppose that lengh could be longer (100-120mm)

the most important thing - pitch, it's 1.25mm, thank you! i won't lose my engine now during ride ;) wish you good roads!
Same to you mate, all the best.
Just looked at the picture in the link. My engine bars mount on the middle fixing point on the left hand side bolt # 16 in your diagram, so different to the picture. I will remove bolt #18 and measure it.

Dear Neil, it's not critical if bother you =)
No trouble, I should have read the post correctly. I just assumed that engine bars were all the same. The Russian bars look like they give excellent protection.
I was also looking at the exchange rates 0.02 Rouble to 1 euro, bikes are pretty expensive in Russia?

exchange roubles with euro is about 1euro for 42 roubles ;)

regarding bars - mechanic which welded my frame in one place, below my issue with frame said that its more "loooks" than "protects" good etc, in Russia its price about 150-180USD.

and here is my frame issue (you can look how protect bar concentrate all power after fall in one point of its mounting - result you can see... ie mechanic said that bars doesn't distribute power on whole construction and it's not perfect - he advised to add some kind of bar which will connect left and right side for better distributing power after falling)

my issue, how it was

Are thise hairline cracks in pictures 2 and 3 to the lower right side of the frame "arm"?

If so, did it crack with that protector on the bike??
Bro, your (and our so) guess is is right. we supposing that it's because of protector.

Hi Rikki,

Have a look at these
