Hi guys. I'm new here and it seems to be a very nice to be. I am a new FZ6 owner, (just hit 200 miles), and I have zero complaints with the bike. To me it is the perfect blend of performance, looks, and price. Perhaps I should have done this as a poll, but I just wondered if I may ask you folks some questions about your bikes?
1. How many miles have you put on your Fizzer?
2. Who has gotten the most mpg from their ride? (Who really cares, huh?)
3. What is the top speed of our bikes, (stock)?
4. How many horsepower do we really have? (Yamaha seems to claim 93.5 but everything that I read says 98)

Nice to have you with us. If you learn to use the search function on here you will learn lots of stuff about this bike. I always use it before I start a job on the bike because if you want to change oil, change the seat, the tyres, screen, anything. We have all been there, made the mistakes and done it.
Last point. DO NOT EVER clean the chain with the engine running.

If you want to know why, use the search function for chain cleaning and you will find out.

Since no one else will address it, I'll come out and say I usually get about 120mi now before I've got one bar left and need to take it to fill up. Then I fill up 3.5-4 gallons, so I've been getting 30-40mpg, depending on riding style. Before my first service it was something like 20mpg though.

I've put about 800 miles on it, the top speed is something I'll never see (my personal is 90, I guess), and when I talk to my friends I just say 100hp and flex my guns.

My observations have been similar to yours, very few complaints especially now I've taken it in for its first service. The seat's not my favorite, don't like how it looks or feels, but $300 seems ridiculous to spend on a replacement. Are you planning any mods at all?

1. about 5500 miles
2. When I had worn sprockets (previous owner had the chain way overtightened and wore down the sprockets really badly) about 30-40 depending on riding style. Just replaced sprockets and went with a 15t front. Now i am gettign about 35-40 go figure (i did the speedo healer right after I installed the sprocket so my odometer is correct)
3. i have topped myself out at 132:spank::spank: (Don't go that fast unless you are a professional course with full gear) but the bike had alot more to give

4. Whatever my manual says

This is my first bike and I love it. Had it 9 months and I haven't even come close to using it to its full potential. This bike is a wonderful machine I cannot say enough good things about.

I was expecting around 150 - 155 top end, but wasn't sure. This is my sixth bike, but my first one in several years, (and certainly my first Yamaha). I've had 5 Hondas, 1 Suzuki, I've ridden an HD often, (good friend gave me a key to it), and I've racked up several fast miles on my nephew's 2 Ninjas, (a 6 and a 9). I've had his 6 to 152 and his 9to 163 while the HD would only pull 107 tops, (on a good day). I am nothing but impressed with the Yamaha! It's smooth, quiet, (when you want it to be), quick, and sharp.
I've had 2 back surgeries and I've been looking for a bike for over 2 years that fits me! The Fizzer gives me the performance of a crotch-rocket but the comfort of a well-behaved street bike. Thanks to you and everyone else here for their kind replies!
