Frame sliders saved my bike today

Well, it finally happened.

Dropped my baby today, left hand turn, stop sign. Don't really know what happened, except I STUFFED UP. :thumbdown:

My GYTR sliders did a fantastic job. All I have is a couple of slight scratches on my mirror and the end of my clutch, otherwise nothing. :thumbup:

I wrentched my arm and wrist trying to stop my bike from falling (why I tried, I don't know - I'm a weakling). I got straight back on and rode to work.

Anyway, stay safe out there and I recommend GYTR sliders - brilliant and they only cost me AUS$100.

Glad to hear you're okay and that the frame sliders saved the day. Don't think I'd have a bike without framesliders now.. seems like a no brainer to me! Hope your arm sprain heals quickly though.

You "professionally laid it down" is the proper term :thumbup: Good to hear you're mostly ok. It's just reaction to try to keep it from falling. At least you got your legs clear.

Good one Kilbane! Totally agree that "professionally laid it down" is the correct verbage. My bike also had a 'little snooze' early on its career. It got me over my OCD of little dings and scratches.

Kazza, I hope you heal well and heal fast. Sore hands, wrists or arms on a bike can be a real 'pain'...

Oh yeah, I went through slow speed crash and after that, I now have a SPARE set of brand new frame sliders. How many can say that? (no, I don't carry them on the bike)

Are the GYTR sliders the ones that have the cast alloy bracket? I had the same ones and when i had a crash it snapped off but still saved the frame from being scratched.

Also i think i may have see you one day a while ago turning onto welshpool Rd from sevenoaks just near the train crossing.

Thanks. Pride hurt more than anything else.
Mine bolt directly to the frame -no bracket.
I got them in North City Motorcycles, Joondalup - where I bought my bike. Good service there.
Probably wasn't me - don't get down that way too often. I live up Chittering Road so Bindoon, Toodyay, Chittering - they're my usual rides. Sometimes ride to work in Maddington (wish I hadn't yesterday....) but still have a shadow - on L's for my R class. Hubby shadows me on black XJR1300 or orange Triumph Speed Triple.
