My gas tank bolt vibrated off earlier this summer. I checked the forum to buy a replacement (thank you), and figured the original was on the side of the road somewhere. Winterized the bike this afternoon, and found the original bolt and washer under the gas tank. )

Funny enough same thing happened to me last year, entire summer I went around with one bolt on the tank. I had to get under the tank for installing the alarm and there it was, both the bolt and washer I was so happy

Same exact thing happened to me! Was about to order a new bolt but I found the old one under the gas tank. They must have designed it that way...

I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier...since I couldn't ride I've been ignoring the forum. I put the original bolt back in, and I've kept the extras for backups. If you'd like, I can give you the info on the replacements I bought at the hardware store.
